It is important for women to exercise during and after their pregnancy in order to maintain strength and fitness. It is crucial to control your posture and alignment whilst you are pregnant, and important to maintain this after your baby is born. Exercise during and after pregnancy can also beat the pregnancy blues and help combat post natal depression, as it helps reduce stress and anxiety which can occur, especially if you are a first time mum. You could recover quicker from the birth and have less complication during delivery. You will also have more self esteem due to looking and feeling healthy and fit.


It is absolutely fine to exercise during pregnancy as long as you have had no complications. It is always a good idea however to get the all clear from your GP.
